Victoria Island in Lagos Nigeria is the headquarters of Corporate Nigeria ,it is a city full of paradox.Its is the City where High net worth individuals resides and also a city where the very bottom people resides as well.
It is full of vacant buildings which are fast becoming derelict,especially on the Ahmadu Bello way which houses the Liaison offices of all the states in Nigeria,this was because Lagos was formerly the capital of Nigeria.Some of the building belonging to some states has been turned into a haven for unemployed youths and slums,where there no functional drainage system.,collapsed doors and windows etc.The most appalling thing is that there are lot of homeless people who sleeps on the bar beach opposite this derelict buildings and on the street.If the state government of some of this abandoned building had a vision or economic foresight ,they would have known that the building could provide additional revenue for their government by means of rent,and this will have a multiple effect in the Housing situation in Lagos.
My appeal is for the State governments of abandoned buildings on Ahmadu Bello way should please do something about their buildings.

I came to Nigeria last years on a project and was staying on Victoria island,good and friendly people, but the area in this blog was truly abandoned cos i jog on the bar beach every morning and saw things for myself.I urged the govt to do something about it cos lagos was fun.
